running ads.

What is the difference between boosting a post and running a campaign?

the short answer.

Boosting is a shortcut with most of the controls removed. A campaign in Ads Manager lets you choose the objective, the audience, the placements, the budget rules and what counts as success. Same money, far more of it aimed at the outcome you actually want.

what boosting takes away.

  • The objective: boosting leans to engagement, not purchases.
  • Proper audience control and exclusions.
  • Multiple ads tested against each other.
  • Budget rules and structured scaling.

when boosting is fine.

Putting a little money behind a post that is genuinely doing well organically, to get it in front of more of your own followers, is a reasonable use of KWD 20. It is not a sales strategy.

the practical difference.

With a campaign you can say: find people likely to buy this product, exclude anyone who bought in the last 30 days, test three videos, and put the budget behind whichever wins. None of that is available from the Boost button.
